Growing out your hair can seem like such a huge task, can’t it? Sometimes it can seem like it takes forever, and doesn’t grow out in a way that you’d like. If you’ve been itching for a change and you’re ready to grow the length out we have a few tips for growing out your hair that will help you do that much easier.
Don’t Use Too Much Heat
Heated hair styling tools are incredible gadgets! But even when you practice healthy and safe techniques when using them they can put stress on your hair, when you’re in the process of growing hair out you want it to be as healthy and strong as possible. So what does this mean? Experts suggest avoiding using heat on your hair as much as possible. Allow your hair to air dry as often as you can, and cut back on how often you use other heated tools. This will give your hair a chance to gain its strength and be much healthier and able to grow out.

Get a Light Trim Consistently
So often women tend to be afraid of getting their hair cut when growing it out, but so many experts in the hair world suggest that it can be much more beneficial to your hair when you stick with a trim routine. Most experts suggest asking your stylist for a ‘dusting’ type of trim, where you really just barely getting a trim cut to your locks. Maintaining a hair trim routine will be sure to keep your hair healthy, less likely for breakage and damage to result, and help to keep your hair looking healthier as you grow it out. This is especially true when you’re going from a short hair style and working your way to much longer locks. Just be sure to communicate to your hair stylist that you just want a very slight trim, because you’re in the process of growing out the length.
Use Hair Care Products
Hair care products were created for a reason! Because they help to make styling your hair well…easier. Using hair care products can be incredibly helpful in the growing out process. Experts suggest enlisting in the help of texturizing products when growing out bob/lob hair styles. Texturizing products can help add more texture into your hair so that as you go through difficult growth periods the ends and layers are masked a bit. Now, if you’re growing out a pixie hair style you may experience hair that becomes voluminous in a way that’s not necessarily ideal. In this type of situation, instead of a texturizing product you’ll want to opt for a smoothing/straightening type of product to help calm the locks down a bit and help with the awkward growth stages.
