Sometimes, every woman wants to create the perfect hair style – but not everyone wants to opt for heat. While heat styling is great and can contribute to the perfect look, it can also be damaging to the hair, and time consuming. Today, Lionesse wants to provide you with a few no heat hairstyle options to create a gorgeous heat free style, while looking absolutely fabulous at the same time.
If you love the look of curls but can’t bring yourself to take the flat iron or curling iron to your hair to create the style, this is a great option for you. Sock curls are super easy to complete, and all you need is 6-8 single long socks to get the look. Begin with damp hair, either fresh from the shower or spray the hair with water. Simply take one of the socks to the scalp of your head, letting the sock dangle down. Grasp a small section of hair and wrap from the top of the sock down to the bottom of the sock. Twist the sock up, winding towards the scalp, and tie the bottom of the sock to the top of the sock. Complete all over your head. Once complete, wrap a scarf or silk sleeping cap around your head and drift off to dreamland. Upon waking up in the morning, remove the socks gently from your hair, and tousle through the curls with your fingers for a perfect style that lasts all day. Spritz with a little hairspray to hold the style.
If you love the wavy look that’s so typical of summer, you’ll be happy to know it’s super simple and easy to get the look without breaking out the crimper or curler. Simply create smaller braids (opt for about 15-20) for a tighter waved look, or larger braids (opt for about 4-6) for a more natural beachy waved look. You should complete the braids on damp hair to really allow the waves to set in. Create the braids at night before bed, and when you wake up, remove them to reveal a gorgeous, wavy style. Spritz with a bit of sea salt spray or texturizing spray or pomade to give them a natural appearance.
For those days where you can’t seem to find the time to create the style you want, and you’re just having a generally bad hair day, you can create a braided bun look which is super simple and exceptionally easy – and the best part is, no special braid skills are required to create this look as it’s a simple braid and bun style. You will need two hair ties and bobby pins for this style. Simply put the hair into a ponytail towards the bottom of the back of your head. At the top of the pony, create a space in the middle of the top of the hair, above the elastic, and pull the ponytail through the hole you created to form a sort of topsy-turvy style. From there, braid the length of the ponytail in a simple three strand braid. Secure the bottom of the braid with an elastic. Grasp the hair and roll upwards, two or three times, whichever you prefer, and pin into place into the topsy-turvy styled area. Spray with hairspray to secure your look all day.
