Braided styles are in –every girl knows that. From kids, to teens, to adults, they are a beautiful style that can be worn in any manner for any occasion. Nowadays, there are so many gorgeous braided styles to choose from that you could literally create a different braid for every day of the week. Lionesse would like to give you some braid options that you could try to wear this summer, or even do on your child’s hair, or friend’s hair.
Five Strand Braid
Wearing a five strand braid long and down your back or even flipping over your shoulder is one of the cutest, most fashionable styles you can wear for summer. This style goes with everything, from shorts and a pretty blouse, to a cute summery dress and sandals. There are so many tutorials available online detailing how to create a five strand braid, and it’s one of the easiest, trendiest braids you can wear this summer.
For a cute twist on a typical bun, why not try a braided bun? A section of hair is braided and wrapped around the already created bun, leaving behind a gorgeous braided bun style. This is a classy look so it would even be suitable to wear to an important event, such as a wedding. It’s also a very nice style for summer, as it keeps the hair off of your neck in the heat and humidity – and it’s easy to keep smooth and sleek by use of a shine spray and hairspray.
Crowned Fishtail Braid
A crowned fishtail braid incorporated braiding the hair into a fishtail braid, one of the trendiest current braid styles, and wrapping it around the head similar to how you would wear a flower crown, or a milk maid braid – which we will discuss below. The fishtail braid is a special type of braid which resembles, you got it, the tail of a fish. This would be gorgeous to wear a bride for a summer wedding, or as a guest in attendance. It would also be a very sweet look for a first date, or even when spending time with friends.
Milk Maid Braid
Milk maid crown braids are another easier type of braided look to create, which is much more simplified than a fishtail braid, and looks very summery and beautiful. The name comes from Dutch and British milk maids, who were actually women who were employed to milk cows. They would typically wear their hair in this fashion to milk the cows and collect the dairy. You could also incorporate a fishtail look into this braid to give it a spin if you’re skilled or so inclined to do so.
Upside Down Crown Braid
Upside down crown braids are another beautiful type of crown braid to create. It requires braiding the hair in an upside down fashion – again, many tutorials are available online to learn how to create this style, and they don’t require much skill or effort such as the five strand braid we spoke about above. This looks more elegant than the milk maid braid or even the crowned fishtail braid we spoke of. You could wear this for a special occasion or keep it as a casual hairstyle.
Braided pigtails were a go-to hairstyle for many of us when we were children. Now that we are grown, we can still wear this style with a new spin – fishtail braids! Create two fishtail braids on parted hair, one on either side of the face to get this look. Keep this one for a casual day or just hanging around. Also a cute look when you go to do your grocery shopping or running errands. This is a fun summery hairstyle that goes with anything.
