Ah, the fresh scent of spring air. As we get ready to welcome the month of April, one thing that we can’t deny is the fact that April tends to come with plenty of rainy days along with it. While it’s great to have a change in seasons and warmer temperatures, the rainy weather can really do a number on those that have curly hair. Let’s face it: April showers bring frizz for curly hair. To help the curly hair ladies out there, we thought we would share some of the tips we’ve found to help you fight the frizz during this upcoming rainy month. Who says the rain has to ruin your hair?
Add More Moisture
We know, when it’s rainy and humid you probably feel like the last thing your hair needs is more moisture. However, experts suggest that one of the factors that really plays into developing frizzy hair is having hair that’s lacking a lot of natural moisture. When your hair is lacking a lot of moisture and hydration on its own, the humidity and rain can easily affect your hair causing that dreaded frizz to occur. So, make sure that you’re switching your hair care products to options that are going to help add more moisture to your hair. If you want to really help get the moisture in your hair, try a deep conditioning treatment once a week to really lock in the moisture to keep your curly hair healthy and moisturized.
Switch Your Products
Using hair care products is so important to really keeping your hair healthy, but if you tend to experience a lot of frizz this time of year it’s time to switch up some of your products to really make the most of the products that you’re using. Experts suggest using hair care products that aren’t too heavy as they can weigh down your curly locks. Choosing products that are designed to work with curly hair is essential here, and adding in an anti-frizz or humidity product can help keep your hair from the frizz even more. It’s all about using the right hair care products for your hair type and the needs that it has, so as those needs change you need to make sure that you’re changing your products along with it.
Style Your Hair Differently
Even when you’re able to fight a lot of the frizz in your hair using the tips we mentioned above the rain can really wreak havoc on our hair when it’s constantly raining out. It often feels like it’s impossible to have a good hair day, especially when you have curly locks. One of our favorite things to do is have fun with pulling your hair back during those rainy days. There are so many fun and easy up-do hairstyles you can try to have your hair looking great all April long, but still be able to avoid some of the frustration that tends to come along with rainy weather and curly hair.
